Founded in Meda in 1927, Cassina launched industrial design in Italy during the 50’s by taking a completely new approach which saw a shift from handcraftsmanship to serial production.
Cassina has always had a pioneering attitude thanks to its striking inclination for research and innovation, combining technological skill with traditional craftsmanship.
In 1964, the company acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to serially produce the first four models designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, starting a complex philological process to establish what is now known as the Cassina I Maestri Collection. Over the years, this collection, developed in close collaboration with the authors’ heirs and official foundations, has brought together some of the most iconic 20th Century furniture with the aim of disseminating its cultural values.

Many renowned Italian and international designers and architects have collaborated, and continue to collaborate, with the company including Vico Magistretti, Gio Ponti, Mario Bellini, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Rodolfo Dordoni, Piero Lissoni, Gaetano Pesce, Afra & Tobia Scarpa and Philippe Starck. In 2015 the Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola was nominated Art Director.
Today ‘The Cassina Perspective’ expresses the company’s values to offer an eclectic collection for the home where innovative products and Modern icons come together to create complete and, above all, welcoming atmospheres, dialoguing according to a unique design code based on excellence. Cassina Pro, on the other hand, is a collection of certified products, that stem from the company’s most loved contemporary products and design icons, developed for the hospitality sector and workplace.
