Creative spaces. Powerful concepts. A look at the Planner Day.

What makes spaces truly special places?
How does hospitality that leaves a lasting impression come to life?
Through design, atmosphere, or thoughtful planning?

These were the questions we explored (and found answers to!) last week at Planner Day in the Design Post Cologne. Together with our sales partner Wegscheider Office Solution (WOS), we created an inspiring event – full of ideas, exchange, and a shared passion for design.

Focus on hospitality design

Planner Day was all about hospitality design: from hotel rooms and lobbies to restaurants – wherever hospitality is experienced spatially, there’s a need for concepts that are both functional and rich in atmosphere. And that’s exactly where the event came in.

A special thanks goes to Matthew Balon, Head of Design at Ruby Hotels, who gave an impressive talk. With clarity and passion, he spoke about Ruby Hotels’ design philosophy: minimal, characterful, and site-specific. No cookie-cutter concepts, but a tangible individuality – an approach that resonated deeply and inspired many of the participants.

Workshops, exchange and real encounters

The heart of the day lay in the interactive workshops, where planners worked side-by-side with manufacturer partners on concrete design ideas. pCon.planner and pCon.catalog were central tools – helping to structure creative processes, enable visualizations, and make a wide variety of materials and products accessible.

Whether lighting design, acoustic solutions, or material selection: conversations, demos, and hands-on activities made it clear just how much potential digital planning holds – especially in the hospitality sector. And how enriching the direct exchange between planners and manufacturers can be.

Thanks to everyone who made this day possible!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Design Post Cologne and Petra Linn (Pure LINN) for the perfect setting and seamless organization. The workshop moderation, the sunshine on the terrace, the tasteful ambiance – all of it contributed to making the day truly special.

A big thank you also goes to the brand partners of Design Post – Arco, THONET, Kvadrat, Prostoria, Création Baumann, Rohi, Quasar, Misura, and Wagner – whose products were not only showcased but actively integrated into the workshop concepts. And of course, to Wallczka Catering – for culinary highlights that were just as tasteful as the design itself.

Save the Date – See You in September!

A day full of inspiration, ideas, and genuine connection is behind us – and we’re already looking forward to the next Planner Day in autumn.

Stay tuned – and feel free to bring your curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for collaboration once again!
