FAMEG, a company with over 140 years of tradition, is now part of the pCon community. The company’s history dates back to 1881 when the Thonet brothers, sons of the renowned Michael Thonet, founded a factory in Radomsko. After a period of nationalization, the company was acquired by Tadeusz Polanowski in 2012 and has since been family-owned again.

Tradition and Craftsmanship
FAMEG’s production is based on a unique technology that originates from Michael Thonet’s innovations in the 19th century. The art of wood bending, revolutionary at the time, continues to shape the manufacturing of furniture today. Despite utilizing advanced technologies, the company remains dedicated to craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail. Today, FAMEG is one of the largest manufacturers of bentwood chairs in Europe and a global leader in this field.

Each piece of furniture is created using high-quality wood, primarily beech, known for its hardness and durability, making it ideal for bending. Additional materials such as oak and ash are selectively used to enhance the uniqueness of each design. The entire production process, from wood selection to final assembly, is meticulously controlled to ensure excellence in both aesthetics and functionality.

Sustainability and Responsibility
FAMEG actively promotes environmental protection. The company sources its wood exclusively from FSC-certified forests, ensuring that a new tree is planted for every one used. The use of water-based varnishes, reduction of packaging materials, and introduction of reusable fabric packaging further contribute to sustainability. Additionally, production by-products are repurposed into ecological briquettes, and an in-house biomass heating plant supplies warmth to both the factory and surrounding schools and residential buildings.
