More about String Furniture
ICONIC SIMPLICITY
String has earned a place in design history thanks to its elegant simplicity and an ingenious construction that rests on only three elements – the shelf, the wall panel, and the metal fitting – yet can be combined in an infinite number of configurations.
HOW TO MANAGE A LEGACY – AND DEVELOP IT
Since 2005, String Furniture has owned the iconic String System. Celebrating its perfect combination of form and function while meeting the needs and desires of a new generation is a balancing act. They continue to evolve the original String System by introducing contemporary colours, new materials, and fresh accessories. But they also introduce new designs and new furniture to their collection.
WHAT MAKES AN OFFICE ACTUALLY WORK?
Soon after it was first release, the String System was chosen by many interior designers for office projects. To make it even more useful, designers Anna von Schewen and Björn Dahlström developed the brand Works – a range of furniture for flexible, ergonomic, and contemporary work environments that include sit-stand desks, storage units and cabinets. Of course, Works fits seamlessly together with String System.
A SUSTAINABLE IDEA MUST BE SUSTAINABLE AT EVERY STEP
Every product from String Furniture is, in one way or another, connected to sustainability. At the top of their list is what they call life span. Timeless design and high-quality furniture that lasts a long time. Using durable materials and careful manufacturing results in furniture that can be enjoyed for many years, even decades, and has character and a visual expression that feels beautiful and attractive day after day. And they exclusively use renewable, recyclable, or recycled materials.
SETTING AND KEEPING HIGH STANDARDS
String Furniture’s designs meet European and international standards, and strict environmental requirements that guarantee minimal impact from the production and use of their products. Every step of the supply chain follows the UN’s code of conduct “The Global Compact”.
MADE IN SWEDEN – EXCEPT WHEN HIGHER QUALITY IS FOUND ELSEWHERE
More than 95% of their furniture is made in Sweden. Which means they can make in-person visits to most of the factories to discuss materials and manufacturing. A few parts are manufactured elsewhere to ensure the highest quality.
